Parting is Such Sweet Sorrow

I've had a terrible time breaking free of the vortex that is my summer place. This last week has been amazing: good friends and neighbors, shared meals, campfires, sunsets, outdoor music and theatre performances, and, of course, the area's famous french toast stuffed with cream cheese and cherries. Croakin'

Thursday I Skyped into an important meeting at work. It was a lovely morning, so I was sitting in the screen porch. Just as we turned off the cameras to enhance our connection, a little frog jumped down from the top of the screen porch, landed on my shoulder, and flopped into my tank top. I somehow managed not to yelp, but jumped, tossed my laptop, and began frantically scooping out my top. So glad I didn't have to explain that on camera!

Waiting for Rain

No drought here, but Home Sweet Home has sprung a little leak that we need to get fixed before leaving her on her own all winter. Previous attempts have failed, but our fix-it guy thinks he solved the problem last evening. However, we won't know for sure until it rains.

While I wait, I've taken on a few DIY projects. Monday I covered a way-too-ugly kitchen border with cork, and now I'm working on window coverings. By the time I get it all fixed up, I'll hate to go.
