Mayan Ruins

Un-Belizable Good Time

It's always very scenic sailing in to or out of Belize because of all the small islands off the coast. With the shallow water and reef, our ship had to anchor about five miles off shore and tender us in. On previous visits to the country, we have gone cave tubing, snorkeling, and rafting. This time we opted to kayak, popping into our boats a little too close to the "friendly" resident crocodile. Afterwards we enjoyed a local lunch of chicken, rice and beans, plantains, and potato salad. Still had time to be typical tourists, buying souvenirs and snapping photos.

Not How We Planned to Get Out

Discovered this little bit of bad news when we were out on the jogging track. Chute!

More Pix from Roatan

It's our favorite place so had to share more...

Yes, He Did...

Tom usually ends up with a "special" souvenir. This time I managed to intervene on the color choice. You're welcome.

What Would You Like for Dinner?

Here is one evening's menu along with a photo of I-Gere (wine steward from Bali) and Bea (server from Thailand) who treated us like family.

Best Snorkeling Ever

Viewing Costa Rican Wildlife in the Tortuguero Canals

In the last photo, check out the five sleeping bats lined up on the tree trunk. By the way, bat is my favorite bizarre word in Spanish (murcielago).
