Neighbors and I went to a nearby village for their annual bonfire festival, held to scare away the winter witch. Weather has been cold and wet, so I hope the 13 fires burning around the cove did the trick. Fireworks followed and then a spectacular light display put on my Mother Nature herself. By then I was back at Home Sweet Home, wrapped in winter pajamas with the furnace blasting.

Ana Mendieta's silhouettes on fire just came to my mind as I saw your photographs! Especially those photographs documenting her process, such as: http://m.artgallery.nsw.gov.au/collection/works/349.1997.11/
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not, I had thought of that, too!
