Wipe Out!
Tuesday morning I rushed to the lobby to try to check my email before catching a train to Shanghai. As I walked the few steps up to the elaborately decorated seating area, I decided to turn on my tablet. One foot kicked a planter, and the other tripped over another step. There was no saving it. I went down on my good knee and ended up on my back, sprawled along a small "moat" surrounding a grand piano. I quickly envisioned Chinese hospitals or a medical evac before pulling myself back to my feet. I was fortunate not to hurt myself, although I have impressive bruising in my favorite color. Put that one down to klutziness, but I have come to the conclusion that China is not for wimps. There are too many uneven surfaces, stairs without railings, and squat toilets to make it an easy trip.

Good to hear you are okay. Looking on the bright side, just think that not all of us can afford to get personalized bruises in our favorite colors so... :) (even thought they do change color over time, so I guess it's just a matter of waiting!)
ReplyDeleteI'm home, and Tom just saw one of my bruises. He gasped. I was very fortunate not to be hurt.
ReplyDeleteWow! After a week? I would say that you did get hurt! Sorry to hear it was so serious. At least, as you said, you were fortunate that it was only that. Hope you get better very soon!
