Another Day, Another Feast

Arrived late this afternoon on a high-speed train and was promptly hauled off to the best Japanese restaurant in town. I begged for mercy as I lost track of the number of courses (well over 10). I took lots of photos and plan to share the one of simmering fish head soup with a new British acquaintence who labeled me an adventurous eater simply for having a dumpling with my morning eggs. I am now installed, with internet, on the third floor of a friend's home. (When I realized the location of my room, I opted to leave my suitcase on the ground floor and carry up only what I need.) I know I said I really wanted to do this, but it's hot and humid, and there is no A/C. (Just checked. It's 83*/28C in m room.) Need to get to bed and try to play catch-up a bit.

  1. Oh well. I'm familiar with that weather... and no A/C... I bet they open the windows! I hope it's breezy...

  2. "My" sliding glass door to the screenporch/laundry room is open. Not sure that it lets in any breeze, but I'm certainly hearing motorcycles, yelping dogs, etc. Going to be another steamy one tonight--and likely tomorrow when I'll be in university accommodations. Then it's off to the great white north. Stay tuned for more weather whining. LOL!

  3. Yep. Noise is another inconvenience. I don't think I would be able to sleep myself with all of what you mentioned. How did it go in the university?
